My studio is in the front room of my house! We put it there because I wanted to make sure I had adequate ventilation. After reading all of the message boards and dire warnings of having proper ventilation, I was scared to death!

Well, let me tell you, my ventilation is awesome! I have a 360 CFM fan (kitchen hood, bought on eBay) that my husband hung from the ceiling. We covered the floor with locking tiles (like Pergo) to protect the hardwood. There is a vent that is attached to a piece of wood that sits in the window frame while I am torching. I open a window in my dining room, which is behind me, and the airflow is great. Our piano and library used to be in the room, but I've finally taken over the entire room and made it into my studio/office/gallery. I have Gallery Hours every week and local customers can come by and shop right in my Gallery!

For the rest of my set-up, I have a Nortel Minor bench burner, (or my torch), with an Extreme Oxygen EX-15 oxygen concentrator. My beads are annealed in one of two digitally controlled kilns, made especially for annealing beads, called Chilipepper Kilns. I use soft glass, 104 COE, primarily Italian Moretti (now called Effetre), Vetrofond, German Laushca, and USA CIM (Messy) and Bullseye. All of my large-hole beads are hand shaped. I have several presses that I use for tabs and lentils, and even words--they are very cool!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my setup. And thanks for checking out my studio!
